My name is Anjali Venkat and I am a glass artist with an eclectic sense of art and design. Incorporating the unusual into my work, I try to give a new twist to the ordinary in every one of my pieces. Blessed with the opportunity to travel the world, I take inspiration from the sights, colours, crafts, and people I meet on my trips.
I constantly try to learn new techniques and incorporate them into my evolving artistic arsenal. I have trained in Traditional Glass Mosaic at Ravenna (Italy), Hot glass work at the Corning Museum of Glass (New York), Glass blowing at Oslo (Norway), and Tiffany-style lamp making at Perth (Australia). Currently, the techniques I practices involve the use of mosaic, kiln-formed glass, Up-cycled glass bottles, as well as other media like wood, paper and plastic.
I'm a dedicated teacher, conducting workshops in all techniques for anyone interested. My studio, located in Kallang, is a hub of creativity, imagination and productivity. There is no substitute for hard work when it comes to working with the medium of glass, and I'm ready to show you the ropes and get you started on an artistic journey.
