I live in Punggol, it is raining. Is the event still on?
The event is held at Suntec City.
I live in Jurong, it is raining. Is the event still on?
The event is held at Suntec City.
I live in Tampines, it is raining. Hence i assume event is cancelled.
Once again, the event is held in Suntec City.
The event is cancelled only when the organiser says it is cancelled. When organiser says event is good to go, it is good to go unless otherwise stated via SMS.
My dog has given birth to a litter of puppies. I am unable to attend the event as i have to stay home to tend to them. What would you say to this?
"Congratulations to the new addition to the family!" or
"We are so sorry to hear about that." would be our best take.
It is unfortunate that we are unable to speak for all with regards to their decisions made on any chain of events from an urgent business trip to fracturing a big toe.
And we are sure Taylor Swift would have said the same too, if you're unable to make it for her concert which you have paid for.
"But you're not Taylor Swift?"
Yup, you're absolutely right. The thing is, we don't have to be Taylor Swift for directives to be in place.
What are the safety directives you have in place for the participants?
As an outdoor events provider, we have a public liability insurance in force which covers all accidents pertaining to our classes held islandwide.
However, having said that, we would like to emphasize that we place the safety of our participants on the top of our priority list. Solely relying on a public liability insurance to cover any mishaps would certainly go against our code of ethics.
We take additional precautionary measures to ensure that accidents or mishaps can be avoided.
A great example would be the weather. We do not simply assess a weather condition based on just looking up at the skies or checking if the ground is wet or dry, or according to some who have suggested, based on their personal experiences.
A lightning risk assessment for example, would require a real-time lightning information from the Meteorological Service of Singapore (MSS) governed by NEA Singapore, where we get our hourly updates from.
A common misconception is that there is lightning only when there is rain. However, lightning can strike a distance away from the thunderstorm cloud where there is no rain or even where the skies appear to be clear.
Under what circumstances would the organiser cancel the event and what would be the outcome?
*As an outdoor yoga experience, Yoga & Movie UNDER THE STARS is subject to prevailing weather conditions. Specifically, rain will not prohibit any of the activities unless weather conditions present a danger to our participants.
Participants accept that in purchasing a ticket, they are paying for an outdoor yoga class commencing at approximately 7.00pm at Suntec City, and that weather conditions prior to that time and in other parts of Singapore will not result in the activity being cancelled. Participants accept the risk that weather they consider unsatisfactory may occur on an experience night, and acknowledge that tickets will not be exchanged unless the experience is cancelled by Yoga & Movie UNDER THE STAR due to dangerous weather conditions.
In the unlikely event that an experience is cancelled, the organiser will re-schedule the experience to another day. If this is not possible, the customer will be entitled to exchange their ticket for a ticket to another date of their choice, subject to availability.
